sunday services

Come to a Sunday Service and you will be warmly welcomed. Our worship is always followed by refreshments and chats.  There is often a lot of laughter too.

what to expect

We are a community church with a big heart and a friendly welcome. We have members of all ages from all over the world and love the richness this brings to our worship.

Whaddon Way Church

Welcome Home

We seek to share the love of Jesus in all that we do, and we want to bless our local community through the activities and events that we run as well as through our worship services. If you are new to church, new to the area or just looking for a fresh start we would love to see you at a Sunday service. We know that some people want to dip a toe in the water and others want to dive straight in; we welcome you regardless.

The church offers four home groups that meet weekly, with three in the evening and one in the afternoon. The age range of participants is diverse, from 7 to over 80 years old. The groups use questions based on the previous Sunday’s sermon as a starting point for their discussions, which are always interesting and encouraging, covering various topics.

Prayer support for group members is an essential part of these gatherings. Additionally, the home groups organize occasional social events to foster fellowship in different ways.

Those interested in joining a home group can reach out to Rev. Peter Landry.

Prayer is highly significant at WWC. We have regular prayer meetings on Sunday evenings in Spring and Summer, and on Mondays when the Winter Night Shelter is active.

Prayers are an essential part of our services, focusing on church members, the local community, and global issues. A prayer team is available after Sunday services to pray for individuals, aiming to alleviate worries through prayer.

Urgent prayer needs can be shared through the prayer line, allowing members to support one another. To request prayer, individuals can contact the church office, which will then inform the prayer team.

Whaddon Way Church is able to do all that it does through the generous giving of members and visitors. Church members are encouraged to give through regular standing orders though an offering box is always available for those who prefer to give cash.

If you would like to give a regular donation to WWC please download the form below and return it to the Church Office.

Whaddon Way Church is an Anglican/Baptist Local Ecumenical Project, functioning with a congregational governance system.

Members are responsible for attending Ordinary Church Meetings, Annual General Meetings, and Special Church Meetings when needed.

They actively participate in shaping the vision, mission, and operation of the church.

Three marks of membership are emphasized: upwards living (growing in worship of God), inwards transformation (participating in church community and service), and outwards serving (using experiences, skills, and gifts to share the light of Jesus).

Financial contribution is encouraged based on individual ability.
